From September 24 to Oct 1, Four Fisheries Staffs from RMU of Coastal Fisheries Division, traveled to Tab-north at the request of MISE for completing EIA as part of the Environmental License required for the road construction. The team conducted a site-specific benthic habitat assessment within the proposed mining site, wharf construction area, and desalination brine-water discharge location. The assessment focused on documenting existing benthic habitats and marine organisms to establish baseline information for the proposed development. The information collected will help assess potential environmental and fisheries-related impacts, and it will also conclusively determine if the proposed sites are ideal for mining or not. Huge appreciation to MISE for funding this EIA trip.
