A new cooperation on the designing of the Marina Infrastructure project between the Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources and the China Ocean of the China Mechanical and Engineering Corporation Group valued around AUD$0.7 million (funded by Government of Kiribati), was signed today 19 May 2025, at Shenzhen city, China. The Honourable Minister Ribanataake Tiwau blessed this signing ceremony by acknowledging CMEC/China Ocean for taking up this important project for the benefit of the people of Kiribati. Work on this Marina project to be built at the Ananau causeway will now begin immediately. The Government of Kiribati thanked the hard work of both Parties for making this marina vision becomes a reality now.
