'The Foreign Economic Cooperation Center, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, of the People’s Republic of China organized a Seminar on aquatic product storage and processing techniques for pacific island countries. In which official from the KSVD and CFD, a division of the Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources and a staff from Ministry’s State-Owned Enterprise, CPPL, had the privilege to attend this important Seminar. The Seminar was held from the 19th to 30th September 2025. Providing insights knowledge towards achieving a sustainable fisheries development by covering essential topics on processing technique, product diversification and cold supply chain of aquatic products using advanced technology, for ensuring the production of a high standard and quality aquatic products for the global market. The participants had also the opportunity to visit fisheries research institutions, aquatic processing facilities, exhibition center, aquarium center, aquaponics farm, aquaculture facilities and farms at Guangzhou City and Qingdao City in China. This seminar had provided a learning experience and networking opportunities for fisheries officers from the pacific island countries especially Kiribati. The Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources, convey it sincere appreciation to the Government of China through the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China for the funding support, and to the Foreign Economic Cooperation Center for organizing a successful and most important seminar for pacific island countries.
