The ISA-China Joint Training and Research Center (JTRC) hosted an important deep-sea training from 23–27 April 2025 in Qingdao, China. A participant from the Ministry of Fisheries & Ocean Resources – Geoscience Division, Inshore Unit, represented Kiribati at this event. The training aimed to build technical capacity and enhance understanding of deep-sea exploration, marine environmental protection, and the sustainable management of seabed mineral resources in areas beyond national jurisdiction. The Ministry sincerely thanks the ISA-China JTRC and the Phoenix MSP Project for generously funding this valuable participation opportunity.
