Pacific Fisheries Leaders Unite in Hobart to Strengthen Coastal Science.
A 1wk long 17th Head of Fisheries (HoF17) meeting held in Hobart; Tasmania Australia was concluded last week on the 2nd of May 2025.
The purpose of the meeting is to bring together all the Pacific Island Fisheries Heads to discuss fisheries issues and agree on strategics ways forward to address these issues.
Strengthening of coastal fisheries science was the main issues raised by members to SPC in order to elevate coastal fisheries in the region.
The meeting also brings an opportunity for members to follow up with outstanding request with SPC and to discuss new request with development partners.
